Born on April 15, 1966 in Kursk. Actor, theater director. Honored Artist of Russia (1999). His father is Lithuanian and his mother is Bulgarian from the Dniester region (Ukraine). In 1980, the family moved to Saratov, where the same year he graduated from the city Theater School (course of Yuri Petrovich Kiselev). He was drafted ahead of schedule and did his military service in the Navy; he was demobilized in 1988 with the rank of quartermaster. He worked for 10 years at the Saratov Theater of the Young Spectator. In 2001, he graduated from the Theater Academy (RATI) (Directing Course of Pyotr Fomenko). While studying at RATI, he directed performances at the Samara Theater "Monday". After graduation, he staged performances in two Moscow theatres, “Pyotr Fomenko’s Workshop” and the Theatre-Studio directed by Oleg Tabakov, then in Omsk at the “Fifth Theatre”. In 2003-2007, he was the chief director of the Pushkin Theatre in Magnitogorsk, where he lectured at the Theatre Faculty of the Conservatory. In 2009-2011, he was the chief director of the Fyodor Volkov Academic Theatre in Yaroslavl.
He made his film debut in 2003.
