Plot synopsis
Based on material collected by Dmitri and Anna Furmanov about Vasili Chapayev, a Civil War hero. Grand Prix in the Film Contest at the World Fair in Paris, France (1937).
Bronze Medal at the 7th IFF in Venice, Italy (1946). 1st Prize at the 1st Soviet IFF in Moscow (1935). For this film, the main members of the crew and cast received the Stalin Prize (first class): G. Vasilyev, S. Vasilyev, B. Babochkin (1941).
Gold Medal for the film at the 3rd Film Show “Lido degli Estensi” dedicated to the fight of peoples for freedom and independence in honour of the centeniary of Italian unification. _____________________________________________
