Plot synopsis
The action takes place during the years of the Civil War. A commander of the Red Army, a schoolteacher in civilian life, sends the teenager Vanya, a young poet, to the editorial office of the Moscow newspaper Revolution and Poetry. During the long journey to Moscow, it is the old soldier Sorokin who accompanies Vanya.
