Plot synopsis
The action takes place in a pioneer camp that clearly belongs to some high-level social administration or organisation. One of the educators is a sculptor who is well versed in classical literature and a great fan of Lermontov. The main character, Mitya Lopukhin, nicknamed Lopukh, is influenced by the sculptor, who shows him the value and meaning of art. He falls in love with a young girl, Droubitch, who reads books in three languages... The staging of Lermontov's play Masquerade is designed to give teenagers a better understanding of feelings, passions and moral values.
