Plot synopsis
In 2008, the sixth most successful movie in distribution in Russia was the war dramaWe Are From The Future, in which a quartet of “black archeologists” frompresent-day St Petersburg suddenly found themselves in the year 1942, at the height of the SecondWorldWar.Asequel swiftly followed. In this picture, two of the characters fromthe previousmovie arrive inWestern Ukraine at the site of a key battle fought sixty-five years earlier, to take part in a reconstruction of those remote events and to “play a game of soldiers”.However, they are suddenly transported back in time once more, this time to the year 1944, when the Lvov-Sandomir offensive by Soviet forces had commenced. Two young Ukrainians, whowere taking part in this roleplay on the opposite side, also make this journey with them. In the face of a real, implacable foe, all four overcometheir innermost doubts, forget their prejudices and resolve the conflicts that separate them. However, most importantly, they learn lessons for the future that they were not able to master in the first movie.
