After graduating from the School of Fine Arts, the young sculptor Agouli Eristavi receives a large Parian marble as a gift from his teacher. He hopes to make an extraordinary work of art out of it one day. But then comes the Second World War, from which he returns very upset. He marries a young Russian woman, Glafira, and to support his family, he sculpts tombstones for private clients. The large white marble remains intact. Little by little, his works accumulate... in the city cemetery where they end up forming an "extraordinary exhibition". Agouli gives the large marble to his student Zauri in the hope that he will accomplish what he himself could not achieve.
