Plot synopsis
Kudryashov, an artillerist and Varya, a kindergarten nurse were dreaming of this day for the whole war as they promised each other to meet at 6 o’clock p. m. after the war. Varya went to the front as an anti-aircraft gunner, Kudryashov was badly wounded, lost a leg, and decided that he was no match for the young woman. Better let her think that he was killed. But his fate and friend help Kudryashov, and his dream of meeting Varya comes true.
