Sergei Chlyants was born in Odessa in 1961. In 1984 he graduated from the Odessa Institute of Architecture. For two years he studied at the Faculty of Directing at GITIS (Institute of Theatre Arts) in Moscow.
He began his professional life as an assistant director at the Odessa Studio, second director of the films of S. Govorukhin, I. Apasian, G. Ungvald-Khilkevich. From 1995 to 1997 he was Deputy Director and General Producer of the Gorky Studio. In 1996-1997 he worked as a co-producer of the project "Low-Budget Cinema". From 1997 to 1999 he became General Director of the production company "Soyuzkino" together with Sergei Selyanov and Raissa Fomina. Since 2001 he has been the general producer of the production company Pygmalion Production Film Co.
Sergueï Tchliants est né à Odessa en 1961. En 1984 il a terminé ses études à l’Institut d’Architecture d’Odessa. Pendant deux ans il a suivi les cours de la faculté de réalisation à GITIS (Institut d'Art Théâtral) à Moscou.
Il a commencé sa vie professionnelle en tant qu’assistant-réalisateur au Studio d’Odessa, deuxième réalisateur des films de S. Govoroukhine, I.Apasian, G. Ungvald-Khilkevitch. De 1995 à 1997 il est Directeur adjoint et Producteur Général du Studio Gorki. En 1996-1997 il travaille en tant que coproducteur du projet « Le cinéma à petit budget ». De 1997 à 1999 il devient avec Sergueï Selianov et Raissa Fomina Directeur Général de la société de production « Soyouzkino » . Depuis 2001 il est producteur général de la société de production Pygmalion Production Film Co.
