Biography
After graduating from the Moscow Art School (1946), he took animator courses at the Soyuzmultfilm studio. He then worked as an animator. In 1954, he made his directorial debut in one of the first puppet films of Soyuzmultfilm's new 3D animation workshop. In 1960 he graduated from the graphic department of the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. He makes hand-drawn, more rarely puppet and combined films. He repeatedly went to technological experiments (the first Soviet wide-screen cartoon - "Murzilka on the satellite", the first use of electrography in Soviet animation in the film "The Kid and Carlson", the shooting operator J. Topper's combination in "The Nutcracker", the actor's video combination with the hand-drawn sets in "Assol"). In 1980-83 - artistic director of the studio "Multtelefilm" In "Ekran".
