Plot synopsis
The action takes place in the 16th century when the Catholic Church is facing a revolt of starving peasants. The traveling puppet master, Yuraz Bratchik, is arrested and forced, under threat of torture, to pretend to be Christ. The people believe in the miracle but Yuraz is not going to serve the interests of the rich...
