Based on a novel by K. Fedin. Kirill Izvekov, student of a technical college, chooses the way of active revolutionary struggle. Together with the experienced undergrounder Ragozin he becomes organizer \r\nof an underground printing-house, then he is caught by gendarmes and condemned to penal servitude. His beloved girl is married to a rich merchant.
