Pavel is about 30 years, he is not yet married and lives with his mother. His work as a commercial director in the Russian subsidiary of a large American advertising agency allows him to have a very comfortable life. In addition he has a relationship with Barbara, the daughter of the American owner, who is very in love with him. He even offers her marriage.
Pavel is completely satisfied with his life, but his mother has another point of view. She regrets that her son is not yet married and does not give her grandchildren.
A few days before the New Year's Day, Pavel sees a young woman with a young woman with a baby in his arms, he agrees to drive them to town. Leaving the car, the woman abandons her child in the back seat. Unable to find her, Pavel brings the infant to the house. Happy, his mother prevents him from rendering the child to social services. Pavel goes, with his new "son", to a children's clinic where he got to know the nurse Natacha with whom he falls in love. But when he returns home, he finds a second child in the stroller. Simultaneously, Barbara's father, accompanied by his son, arrives in Moscow to get to know Pavel of which Barbara spoke a lot. Pavel tries by all means of preventing them from coming to his house and seeing the children, because his job is at stake. But his secret is discovered, his engagement is broken and he is dismissed. On a train, he ends up with another abandoned third child. Without work and with three dependent children, Pavel's life becomes difficult. He can no longer pay the credit of his house and must leave it. Natacha agrees to host him. Their love is reciprocal. And finally the Americans find that their business works much worse without pavel and offer it a new contract.
