Summer 1995. Teenagers spending the summer in dachas near Moscow enjoy the freedom of the holidays. Evenings are devoted to music, guitar and flirting. A feeling much deeper than a simple flirtation brings together Nika, 15, and Kostya, 16, this summer. Nika comes from a wealthy family. After her mother's death she is raised by the governess Polina. Nika's father, a famous painter, remarried a young woman. Neither he nor the governess are very close to Nika, who lives in a very beautiful house, but without anyone with whom she can share her feelings. In addition, Nika is seriously ill.
