The film is dedicated to the 80th birthday of the great Russian painter G.A. Ustyugov, whose life, full of deprivation and need, gave rise to masterpieces of symbolic and figurative painting. The film was shot in St. Petersburg during three seasons. The frames of the city life show the interrelation with the subjects of the artist's paintings.
