Tartarin is a small, plump man from a provincial French town in the 19th century. Every day he prepares for his Grand Voyage. It must be said that not once has he left Tarascon, not even a little. He undertakes to save an expedition in the Alps, but because he spends too much time training and checking his equipment, the expedition is rescued without him. He nevertheless wants to save the victims of an avalanche, but cannot make up his mind and someone else does this good deed.
