Plot synopsis
Tartarin is a small, plump man from a provincial French town in the 19th century. Every day he prepares for his Grand Voyage. It must be said that not once has he left Tarascon, not even a little. He undertakes to save an expedition in the Alps, but because he spends too much time training and checking his equipment, the expedition is rescued without him. He nevertheless wants to save the victims of an avalanche, but cannot make up his mind and someone else does this good deed. Finally, ready for the next mission, he meets a young foreign lady who falls in love with him, and then it's another expedition! The inhabitants of Tarascon constantly make fun of Tartarin. And in the midst of comical situations, fortuitous coincidences, and boasting with the neighbors, it happens that Tartarin... ends up accomplishing the feat of his life. And the whole city celebrates it with enthusiasm…
