The main character, a star of a popular series about doctors, is actor Yegor Rumyantsev. Having achieved great success, he becomes selfish and does not notice the feelings and emotions of those around him: he does not come to the shootings, leads a disordered sex life and deceives people. One day, Yegor learns that he has AIDS. Rumyantsev's brother Lev, an actor without talent and success, hosts a program about useful deeds on a cable TV channel "TV Ant". Lev has a wife and two little girls. He had no prospects of earning money or moving up the career ladder until he got the chance to replace his brother Yegor in the series.
