Based on the novel «The Tight Knot» by V. Tendryakov. Chairman of the collective farm took Sasha, the son of deceased Secretary of district party committee, to his house. The guy started working in the collective farm and entered an institute as a part-time student. He fell in love with Katya but she was attracted by the new Secretary of district party committee, who unlike Sasha was brave and determined.
