Plot synopsis
Kyrgyzstan in the 1920s. In a small village in the mountains, a woman, Ourkaia Salieva, is elected president of an agricultural cooperative. This election contradicts traditions and the will of the local rich. Ourkaia Salieva wants to build a new life with the fierce will, unusual for a woman, to fight anyone who will harm the poor of the village.
