Professor Severtsev, a talented surgeon, looses both legs in an accident in order to save the life of a child. It seems that he will never again be able to work as a surgeon. However, his friends, ex-patients, and the love of a faithful and devoted woman allow him to regain confidence in himself and return to his work.
