Biography
Director, screenwriter, actress, artist, teacher.
Born on August 24, 1948 in Tbilisi. In 1966 she graduated from the musical college, after, in 1972 - the architectural department of the Tbilisi Academy of Arts, in 1980 - the film directing department of the State Technical Institute (workshop of T.E. Abuladze and I.M. Kvirikadze). In the period from 1968 to 1975. worked as an architect. In cinema since 1977. She starred in the films "Several interviews on personal issues", "Swimmer", "Be healthy, dear", "The great campaign for the bride", "The Life of Don Quixote and Sancho". In 1985-1991. taught in Tbilisi. In 1991-1995. together with Irakli Kvirikadze, she led a director's workshop at VGIK. Since 1994 he has been a member of the European Film Academy. He is the author of scripts for the films "Boar" (1993), "Memories Gone Mad" (1993). In some of his films he also acts as an artist and costume designer. Since 1995 he has been living in Germany and Russia. Works in Russia, France and Germany.
