Igor Gladkov graduated from the Yekaterinburg State Theatre Institute in 2014 with a degree in Literary Studies. From 2016 to 2020 he worked in television. In 2019 he shot his first film, A Letter to the Descendants. In 2021 he finished work on two films: When the Bird Cherry Blossoms and Home. For his latest project Gladkov won a grant to take part in the DocTrain training seminar under the guidance of two leading documentary filmmakers from Russia and Germany, Marina Razbezhkina and Arne Birkenstock. This year he entered the Academy of Nikita Mikhalkov with a degree in Film and Television Directing.
