In 1929, he graduated from the cinema department of the Kyiv Art Institute. In 1931 he worked at the Mezhrabpomfilm studio in V.G. Suteev’s group, in 1932-33 at the Soyuzkino film studio, in 1934-35 at the experimental animation workshop at the Main Directorate of Cartoon Films (GUKF) under the direction of V.F. Smirnov, then at Mosfilm, the Moscow graphic studio of the Main Directorate of Cartoon Films (GUKF), and from 1936 at Soyuzmultfilm. He was an animator, production designer (since 1934), and director. He made animated films. As a production designer, he collaborated with directors V.F. Smirnov and O.P. Khodataeva. Artists V.G. Arbekov, K.S. Karpov, P.P. Repkin, I.V. Znamensky, M.S. Zherebchevsky, and others worked with P.N. Nosov.
