Plot synopsis

This is a unique film composed of different short stories that opens our eyes to the life of the Nenets of the Yamal Peninsula. The film is constructed as a series of stories, each of which represents a different era in the history of the Nenets people.
The prologue and epilogue of the film are devoted to the theme of sacrifices. The other stories tell of a young Nenets girl who, against her mother's wishes, leaves her fiancé; of little Siakko who addresses his prayers to the gods to stop going to school; of three old Nenets who organize a sacrifice next to the statue of Lenin; and finally of a rich peasant whose reins were taken by the Russians to give them to the kolkhoz.
