The couple is going through a crisis. The conflict between the spouses erupts because of the presence in the house of the husband's mother who is seriously ill and who demands the constant presence of her son. He believes that all difficulties can be overcome and, torn between two close people, tries to please everyone. The wife sees only one solution to save her marriage which is falling apart: take the mother to a retirement home. To stay together, each will have to make a difficult choice.
