A German soldier sincerely wishes that Hitler would be at his side when a shell bursts at his feet. A true patriot.
The stories in the collection "Cinematic Collection of Battles" are connected by interludes in which Shveik, the hero of the novel by Czech writer Jaroslav Hašek, who is in a concentration camp, takes part. His stories about his fight against the Nazi occupiers, which he intends for his new friends, constitute the theme of the stories. At the end of the film, the commandant of the concentration camp orders Joseph Shveik to be shot. But the bullets prepared by Czech patriots for the Nazis do not hit the cheerful soldier.
