The film takes place at the end of the last century in a fishing village on the shores of the Baltic Sea. An old fisherman and his two sons live in a small house, constantly covered in sand. One day, a woman comes to them. The sea takes her loved ones one by one. But life goes on, children are born, new worries and new hopes arise.
