Director, artist, curator. Born in 1976 in Moscow. Studied music, printing and publishing, in 1995 moved to New York, where she studied at Brooklyn College. During this time, she began working at the Anthology Film Archives, where she studied with Jonas Mekas. Later she studied film, political and social sciences in New York, St. Petersburg and Vienna. She has created numerous experimental films, installations, performances, her films have participated in international film festivals in Rotterdam, London, Oberhausen, Galway, Lumen, as well as in the Vienna Triennial and the Pompidou Center. Godovannaya's works are in the collections of the State Russian Museum, the Austrian Film Museum in Vienna, Parisian and New York collections. In 2013, she was on the jury of the In Silico competition program of the Message to Man IFF.
