Poetic story about four specialists in high-altitude work who have gone to deal with the aftermath of a breakdown on a high-voltage power line in the high mountains on May 1st. The breakdown could have serious consequences for the life of the villages perched in the mountains. It is absolutely essential to send a team of specialists urgently. But it is difficult to find men on a festive evening... Kassym and his comrades are designated. The situation is complicated because that day, Kassym's wife has been admitted to the maternity ward. Her life and that of her child are in danger. But Kassym agrees to take the lead of the team because he knows that there is no one to replace him. He is accompanied by experienced specialists, Igor Repnin and Semyon. On the way, they are joined by the young Omorkoul.
