Igla Remix is a remake of the film The Needle by the same director, released in 1988, which was a great success with the public. The main actor is the Soviet rocker Viktor Tsoi who plays the character of Moro. The story is the same as in the first film and revolves around the character of Moro who returns to Alma Ata in order to recover the money he is owed following a fight that was interrupted by the police. Waiting for his money, he visits his old friend, Dina, and discovers that she is addicted to morphine. He decides to help her stop and fights the local mafia, at the head of the city's drug trade, responsible for her addiction. But Moro has an adversary, "the doctor", godfather of the mafia, who exploits Dina by hiding morphine in her chimney.
