The action takes place in Chermen, a small town in North Ossetia. In 1992, deadly fighting took place in this region between Ossetia and Ingushetia. In 2006, the wedding of the heroes of the film is considered the first official marriage between an Ossetian and a woman from Ingushetia. But on the young girl's side, only her aunt attended the wedding. She herself had to flee her family with her Ossetian husband.
