A poetic trilogy about love and relationships at different stages of life, with the common thread of love songs Ivan Kozlovsky singing Alexander Pushkin. The three films, each shot from a different format (35mm, 16mm and digital video), which work backwards through a whole life. The first part, Pavel and Lyalya (Jerusalem Romance) in 1998 at the IDFA Special Jury Prize won, about the relationship between Pavel Kogan and his wife Lyalya, both filmmakers. Pavel is dying at their home in Jerusalem. The only thing he wants is to return to St. Petersburg, his old home. But Lyalya is convinced that this trip would be the death of Pavel. Every day in Jerusalem there is at least one more with her husband , she reasons. In the second part, Sergey and Natasha (Provincial Romance), we see the marriage of two young lovers. Totally against the wishes of their skeptical families they choose each other without reservation. Finally, the third part , Kindergarten: Sasha and Katya (First Romance) , the unconditional nature of love in a playful way in question. Toddlers in a Russian daycare center indeed already have surprisingly mature traits, and some are considering even to marry each other, but these are fleeting and playful infatuations. In ten minutes, you can be with another couple again.
