Korney Korneevich Polunin is a career military man, a retired colonel. Unable to sit at home, Polunin goes to work at a factory as a mechanic. His friends and son perceive this as an eccentricity. But a group of teenagers comes to the factory's personnel department, and Polunin takes on the leadership of this difficult team.
