The film is based on political events: the Potsdam Conference of the heads of the three powers in 1945 and the Helsinki Conference of European countries for peace and security in 1975. Soviet war correspondent Mikhail Voronov and his American colleague Charles Bright met in the victorious days of May 1945 and now they are about to meet again...
