Plot synopsis

The action takes place during the First Five-Year Plan. The son of a famous scientist, Boris Kochubey, a White Russian émigré previously presumed dead, arrives in Moscow. His friend arrives with him. At night, spies visit the old man's apartment. How will the professor react in this situation?
Against a backdrop of few detective films, the film was very popular in the late 1920s.
