The film takes place in a fairy-tale city. The main character, scientist Christian Theodore, discovers a lot about the city's inhabitants, their oddities and peculiarities. The city's princess has struck Christian Theodore's imagination, but he does not notice that he is not indifferent to the kind girl Annunziata. The scientist becomes a victim of palace intrigues and intrigues.
His own shadow, which appeared to the hero, pushes him to a cowardly act - to refuse the princess. The shadow wins the heart of the princess and wants to destroy Christian Theodore. But, as befits a real fairy tale, everything ends well. The hero is helped by Annunziata's love and the sympathy of the city's inhabitants for the Scientist, who wants to make everyone happy.
