Born in the Serra de Cantareira mountains in Brazil, he graduated from the directing courses at the International Film Academy of São Paulo (AIC-SP) and the Federal University of Reconcavu da Bahia (UFRB). In 2021, his first short film, "Cantareira," won third prize in the Cinéfondacion competition at the 74th Cannes Film Festival. In 2025, he became a resident of the Cannes Film Festival's Studio, where he is developing his debut feature film. "Animals" is the director's first film shot abroad, in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia.
