Maria Finkelshtein was born in Chelyabinsk, USSR. In 2007 she graduated from VGIK (class of documentary directing of B.Karadzhev and E.Reznikov). In 2014–2017 she was editor-in-chief of the tv channel 24_doc. Since 2017 heads the documentary section on the tv channel “Rossiya 1”
