The brilliant plastic surgeon Berladin takes on the most challenging case of his career — to reconstruct the face of the disfigured Sergeant Perkhun. Whilst helping his patient regain hope for the future, the doctor unexpectedly comes face to face with his own family secret, and all these circumstances turn his life upside down, forcing him to take a radically different view of his past and of concepts such as goodness and justice.
