Valentina knows the saying ‘we are responsible for those we have tamed’ all too well. She is the owner of the ‘Time for Cats’ shelter, a lawyer and a mother of two. Previously, instead of the shelter, there was a cat café in the city centre, where, over five years of operation, they found loving homes for 250 furry friends. However, due to disagreements with the landlord, she had to move to the outskirts and turn it into a shelter, which made it less convenient for people to visit. ‘Time for Cats’ now looks after more than 90 cats, and the entire responsibility rests with Valentina, despite the help of volunteers. Seeking funding and solving cat-related problems have been a major part of her life. Problems have also arisen with the new premises – the owner plans to sell them soon. And so the shelter is on the move again, but there are as yet no suitable options among the available buildings.
