In a sense, our film is about all the Russian volunteers—those who, in the summer of 2014, took up arms and went to fight to protect the women and children of Luhansk and Donetsk, as well as their own convictions and the "Russian world" as they saw and understood it. It is about compatriots caught in a war—a conflict that, frighteningly, has already lasted nearly thirteen years yet still, it seems, has not been seriously comprehended by us.
Our protagonist, Georgy, has been a volunteer since 2014; back then, he was a very young man, yet already an experienced special forces officer. Today, Georgy commands a "storm" platoon—assault infantry within the LPR’s 6th Motorized Rifle Cossack Brigade—and is currently fighting on the very front lines of the Special Military Operation. His story reflects the entire history of this war.
