Denis tells two female acquaintances about his trip to Paris and some of his impressions of the trip—basically, he interacted with people there and discussed relationships and how they work. He also talks about his ex, with whom he "got tired" after two years. His conversation is overheard by a mysterious angelic entity in the form of a young woman in a white dress with a bow slung over her back. The angel catches up with Denis at the most inconvenient time, and a heart-shaped arrow flies into his chest. He wakes up at his ex-girlfriend's house and is forced to reconsider his actions over the past two years.
