The film consists of four episodes, adaptations of short stories by S. Mikhalkov:
‘The Find’(«Находка») — the story of a boy who finds someone else’s wallet but loses his own pocket knife. What should he do — return what belongs to someone else in order to find his own?
‘The Toy Director’(«Игрушечный директор») — about a boy choosing a toy in a shop.
‘A Certain Girl’ («Какая-то девочка») — a story about a girl who came to see a performance of ‘Uncle Tom’s Cabin’. ‘Calm’ («Штиль») — a novella about boys from a seaside town who dream of going out to sea in a boat.
