The Hygiene of the Kolkhoz Workers illustrates the ideal of the model Soviet citizen and calls for Peasants, first and foremost, are being asked to adopt a new "cultural" way of life.
"The essential condition for a cultural life is respect for hygiene," a young activist declares to an audience of peasants, explaining the rules to follow. To reinforce these norms, the director doesn't hesitate to use images of naked bodies to visually promote the ideal of a healthy body. The film thus blends health education and propaganda, associating hygiene with a form of social and moral progress.
