The farm manager sends Niniya, a collective farmer, to sell a cow that has been rejected from the communal herd. On the way to the market, they have to cross the railway tracks, but the cow categorically refuses to do so. Ninia's relatives and fellow villagers come to his aid. Each of them offers their own way of getting the stubborn animal across the tracks. The arguments turn into a general brawl, in which a little boy is injured. But the fight continues. None of the brawlers think about the approaching train...
