Plot synopsis
During the summer of 1943, the Soviet leadership learned of the exploits of German physicists in creating an atomic bomb. An undercover Soviet agent was tasked with obtaining secret information about this new type of weapon capable of changing the course of the war. At the same time, work on the Soviet atomic project is intensifying in Moscow under the leadership of physicist Igor Kurchatov. In order to defeat the enemy and neutralize the Allies' nuclear blackmail, the country's scientists and leaders must accomplish the impossible: "transition from fundamental research to practice" as quickly as possible.
