Plot synopsis

The main character is a security officer Fyodor Dyatlov. He is in love with the sister of his comrade Ippolit - the educated, intelligent Irina. At the same time, he harshly persecutes the younger brother of Ippolit and Irina, Valerik. He is also a security officer, but in his youth he was tempted by a bribe. Fyodor himself investigates this case and hands Valerik over to higher-ranking security officers. His possible happiness with Irina and friendship with Ippolit are at stake. But Fyodor is a true fanatic of the communist idea. For the sake of principles, he will do anything.
