Plot synopsis
The twentieth century is truly the century of cinema throughout the world, and our Sakhalin Region was no exception! Back in 1925, the first mobile film trailer appeared in Northern Sakhalin, received from "Dalkino", which marked the beginning of state film distribution on the island. But the roots of cinematography on Sakhalin go even deeper, to the era of the screenings of "Foggy Pictures" and the conspiratorial work of Vasily Oshchepkov. The film "Foggy Pictures of Sakhalin" shows viewers a fascinating story of the birth of island cinema. It immerses us in a fascinating journey from the first film screenings to modern achievements, tells about the first cinemas and films shot on the island, as well as how cinema continued to live and develop during the Great Patriotic War. Advanced artificial intelligence technologies were used in the creation of the film. Viewers will see how photographs from the times of Sakhalin penal servitude and not only come to life on the screen in an amazing way.
