Plot synopsis

1910 is the last year of Leo Tolstoy's life, and it is no exaggeration to say that Tolstoy's departure from Yasnaya Polyana and the subsequent death of the writer became the main events of the year. The whole world followed the drama unfolding in Russia. The funeral of Tolstoy, excommunicated from the Church, became a colossal public event, causing student strikes and workers' strikes.
Two years later, film director Yakov Protazanov shot the film "The Departure of the Great Elder", which became the first "shelf" film of Russian cinema. At that time, at the request of Tolstoy's relatives, it was not shown to the general public.
In "Historical Chronicles", modern viewers will see fragments of this old film and a unique chronicle that captured the great writer. The film stars writers Anatoly Pristavkin and Vasily Aksenov, actor Mikhail Kozakov and director of the Yasnaya Polyana Museum Vladimir Tolstoy.
