Plot synopsis
Russia in 1904... The country is on the eve of revolution, the old world is collapsing. The cherry orchard is being cut down. Chekhov is dying. Nikolai Svanidze calls us to think about the consonance of these real and fictional events.
The fourth episode of the documentary series is dedicated to 1904 and Anton Pavlovich Chekhov. This is the last year of the life of the great writer and playwright, and at the same time the year of the premiere of his immortal play "The Cherry Orchard".
Together with the host and author of the film, viewers will visit Yalta and the small German town of Badenweiler, where Chekhov died, and learn the history of the installation of the world's first monument to the great writer.
