Based on the play by Nino Nakachidze, the story of Siko (played by Kote Mikaberidze), a horse-riding peasant who leaves to make his fortune in America. When he returns home, his wife, seduced by another man, is pregnant. In despair, he burns down their house and his wife commits suicide. Scenes from everyday life, village festivals, circus shows and acrobatic horse races follow one another at a frenetic pace. Breathtaking images set against a backdrop of domestic tragedy, led by a host of picturesque characters.
